General Purpose

The Mackinac Island Yacht Club is seeking a full-time receptionist to welcome member/members and guests, check members and guests in and out of the club, deal with members and guests’ queries, provide prompt and professional members and guests service to meet members and guests needs and ensure members and guests satisfaction.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet members and guests
• Answer and direct incoming calls
• Inform members and guests of club rates and services
• Make and confirm reservations for members and guests
• Ensure proper room allocation
• Register and check members and guests in
• Confirm relevant members and guest’s information
• Verify and collect payment for rooms, merchandise, and services
• Manage onsite inventory for merchandise
• Issue room keys and direct members and guests to their rooms
• Maintain clear and accurate records of members and guests room bookings
• Compute all members and guests’ billings, accurately post charges to members and guests’ rooms and house accounts
• Listen and respond to members and guests queries and requests both in-person and by phone
• Provide accurate information about local attractions and services
• Liaise with necessary staff including housekeeping and maintenance to address any problems or complaints made by members and guests
• Complete and maintain any incident reports, daily activity reports or other reports requested by management
• Close members and guests accounts and check members and guests out
• Review accounts and charges with members and guests during the check-out process
• Process accurate payment of members and guests accounts
• Inform housekeeping when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
• Monitor visitors to the club
• Enforce rules and policies of the club
• Maintain a neat and orderly front desk and reception area
• Interfacing with club’s resident agent for accounting purposes

Education, Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• customer relations experience, preferably in a hospitality environment
• Must be comfortable with learning reservations and financial management systems
• Administrative skills
