Special Events

• Join us for the re-dedication of the club on Sunday May 27th at 1:00 pm on the lawn following Sunday brunch.
• Keep a look out for a MIYC 75th Anniversary float in the Lilac Parade.
• We will hold a 75th anniversary celebration on Sunday August 5th. This will be an outdoor bar-be-cue for members and our island neighbors.
• Watch for our special commemorative clothing, Christmas ornaments and items that members can purchase at the club this year.

Anniversary Book

Mackinac Island Yacht Club is currently planning a year long celebration in 2012 commemorating our 75th anniversary. As part of this celebration, we are producing a 75th Anniversary "coffee table type" book showcasing our history since 1937.

We are requesting members to contribute to this special edition book by sharing your pictures, stores or newspaper clippings to be included in our book. The final product will be a 48 pages book chronicling every decade of our rich history.

Could you please share any pictures, tales or stories, and newspaper clippings that you feel would be relevant to our book. Please include any facts that would cover "who, what, when and where". Also, you might start a story by stating……."Do you remember when………"

Pictures could be photos taken in and around the Clubhouse, grounds, or harbor. Ultimately, we will need to have all our material digitally prepared.

To share this information, you may do so by one of 3 ways:

• Send any pictures, stories, or clippings directly to the Yacht Club. (MIYC, P.O. Box 511, Mackinac Island, 49757). Our Secretary, Laura Eiseler, will the convert the materials digitally, and return your original materials to you.
• Your second option will be to digitally convert your materials and email directly to Laura Eiseler at staff@miyachtclub.com.
• Your third option will be to donate your pictures or documents to MIYC. This memorabilia will be permanently retained in MIYC's archives. Mail directly to the Yacht Club address.

Our objective is to have the materials captured in preparation for printing by April 1, 2012; therefore, we are requesting you assemble and forward your materials ASAP.

The History of Mackinac Island Yacht Club book should be ready for sale to members by May 30, 2012. This truly will be an exciting publication creating a book that will be memorable to Mackinac Island Yacht Club members for years to come.
